MIRZA V/S HITLER

Babbu Maan or Gippy Grewal who actually is the King of Punjabi Cinema. Babbu Maan has Hawayein, Rabb Ne Banaiyaan Jodiean, Hashar, Ekam and now the latest Hero Hitler In Love to his credit. On the other hand Gippy Grewal has done films like Mel Kara De Rabba, Jihne Mera Dil Luteya and now his shortly releasing film MIRZA.

Babbu Maan’s EKAM was the only super hit in Punjab until Gippy Grewal’s Mel Karade Rabba was released making Ekam the second top movie of 2010 with Mel Karade Rabba breaking all Box office Collection records in Punjab. Advantage Gippy!!
Not only that Gippy Grewal’s next film Jihne Mera Dil Luteya broke the record of his previous film Mel Kara De Rabba in terms of the profit earned and till date is the top grocer in the History of Punjabi Cinema. Advantage Gippy!!!
The only thing that goes against Gippy Grewal in this race is that he has never done a film in which he is the sole hero. Gippy Grewal did Mel Kara De Rabba along with Jimmy Shergill and Jihne Mera Dil Luteya along with Diljit Dosanjh. So still he has to prove that he can alone steer a film to success on Box Office. This will become clear once his film MIRZA releases in April 2012. On the other hand Babbu Maan has been the Hero of all his films except Hawayein.  Advantage Babbu Mann!!! and a BIG one..
So Babbu Maan is the winner with a narrow margin and is bestowed with the title of “The King Of Punjabi Cinema by DAILY11”. Although this race is far from over and we will return again with this same discussion once we have the Box Office collections of MIRZA and HERO HITLER IN LOVE.
