PTC PUNJABI FILM AWARDS 2012

PTC Punjabi Film awards started with much fanfare with the who's who of Punjabi and Hindi cinema brought to the venue in Limousines. PTC Punjabi Channel tried hard to take these film awards ceremony to the next level and succeeded to some extent. At the entrance of the venue a dancing troupe welcomed the esteemed guests, and then the celebrity walked the Red Carpet signing autographs and posing for pictures with the waiting fans.

The event was hosted by Gulshan Grover and Diljit Gosanjh who did a good job entertaining the audience at regular intervals.

Best Singer Male: Master Saleem
Best  Music Director: Gurmeet Singh for Yaar Anmulle
Best Actress: Neeru Bajwa
Best Actoe: Diljit and Gippy Grewal
Best Film: Jihne Mera Dil Luteya
Best Director: Mandeep Kumar for Jihne Mera Dil Luteya
Best Actor in a Comic Role: B. N. Sharma
Best Actor in Supporting Role: Kulbhushan Kharbanda for Khushiyaan
Best Actress in Supporting role: Rama Vij
Icon of Punjab: Dharmendra
Lifetime Achievement Award(s): Yograj Singh and Dheeraj Kumar
Best Debut (Male): Ranvijay
Best Debut (Female): Surveen Chawla

Best Story:  Eknoor
Best Editing  Jihne Mera Dil Luteya



Although there were some hiccups in the event and the biggest one happened when Master Saleem was announced the winner in the Best Music Director category, to which Master Saleem made a lot of hue and cry, but this embarrassing situation was well managed by the hosts of the event. Highlight of the event was the performance by Master Saleem where he made everyone dance and introduced Yuvraj Hans and also brought Ritesh Deshmukh and his wifr Genelia on stage.

Dharmendra, Dheeraj Kumar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Anupam Kher, Tushar Kapoor, Rama Vij, Ritesh Deshmukh, Genelia D'souza, Prem Chopra and Vindoo Dara Singh were the Bollywood stars present on the occasion. Also on the occasion came actresses Neeru Bajwa and Kulraj Randhawa along with director Manmohan Singh.
